HELPUS
Please be considerate of the following..
PARK CONSIDERATELY
Try to avoid parking on pavements, even when they are wide - an unexpected obstacle causes great problems for the visually impaired whom often navigate using a 'mind map' of their regular route.
Remember - parking on pavements is illegal! If you decide to risk it, leave enough space for people with disabilities to pass safely. Dont park on pedestrian crossing areas odipped footpaths. Dont park in Disabled Driver spaces - drivers with disability cant find alternative parkingh as easily as everyone else.
OBJECTS ON PAVEMENTS
Please be mindfull when placing objects (such as wheel bins or other items) on public pavements by not blocking the pathways. People using wheelchairs or with vission impairments are placed in danger.
Once your bins are emptied, please store them again as soon as possible.
BE WARM AND WELCOMING
Disability isnt always obvious - remember, a person can be affected by a hidden disability.
If you are unsure of how to interact with a person with disability, for example whether to offer help, simply ask them.
If its your first time meeting, ask them about their disability - and abilities!
